Auto-Fill Applications with the Browser Extension
Install the HireMindPro Apply extension to auto-fill any job application form from your resume — you review and submit.
HireMindPro Apply is a Chrome browser extension that fills out job application forms for you. On any company or ATS application page (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Workday, and most custom career sites) it reads the form fields, uses AI to map them to your HireMindPro resume and saved answers, and fills text boxes, dropdowns, radio buttons, and Yes/No toggles — including forms built with web components or embedded frames. It can also attach your resume file and save the application to your tracker. It never submits for you: you always review the real form and click submit yourself.
- Who it's for
- Anyone applying directly on company/ATS career pages who wants the form filled in seconds instead of retyping the same details. Best once you have a resume uploaded to your HireMindPro account. (For the in-app one-click apply on the curated job board, see the Auto-apply guide instead — this extension is for applying on external sites.)
- Cost
- Free. Auto-fill and application tracking do not consume credits. Choosing 'Tailored to job' for the resume attachment uses the same resume-tailoring engine (free on a paid plan).
- Before you start
- Google Chrome or another Chromium browser (Edge, Brave) — it loads as an unpacked Manifest V3 extension
- A HireMindPro account with a resume uploaded (auto-fill reads from your resume — without one it will prompt you to add it)
- The extension download from the Jobs page on the site you use — the download is matched to that site so it connects to the right environment
Install the extension
- Open Jobs (/jobs) and click the Download extension button — you get a zip configured to talk to the site you downloaded it from.
- Unzip the downloaded file to a folder you'll keep (don't delete it — Chrome loads the extension from that folder).
- Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
- Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder. 'HireMindPro Apply' now appears in your extensions.
- Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin HireMindPro Apply so its icon is always visible.
Sign in to the extension
- Click the HireMindPro Apply toolbar icon to open the popup.
- Enter the email and password of your HireMindPro account and click Sign in.
- You stay signed in to the extension independently of the website — signing into the extension does NOT log you out of the site, and you can use the extension on several browsers/computers at the same time.
Auto-fill an application page
- Open the actual application form for a job (the page with First name, Email, etc.) — not just the job overview tab.
- Click the floating 'Auto-fill with HireMindPro' button in the bottom-right of the page, or open the popup and click 'Auto-fill this page'.
- Wait ~10-20 seconds while it reads the form and the AI maps your resume to the fields.
- It fills text fields, dropdowns, radio buttons, and Yes/No toggles. A small card shows how many fields were filled.
- Review every field on the real form, fix anything that needs a personal touch, then submit on the company's page yourself.
Attach your resume
- After filling, if the page has a resume upload field the card offers two buttons: 'Tailored to job' (generate a resume tailored to this role) or 'My saved resume'.
- Click one and it attaches the file to the page's upload field.
- If a site blocks automatic file attachment, the card tells you — just upload the file manually from your computer.
Track the application
- After you submit on the company's page, click 'I've submitted — track it' in the card.
- The application is saved to your Applications tracker on HireMindPro so you can follow its status alongside your other applications.
Switching environments / the connection indicator
- The popup always shows which backend the extension is using: 'Connected to <site>'.
- The extension talks to whichever site you downloaded it from. To point it at a different site, download a fresh copy from that site's Jobs page and Load unpacked / reload it.
- After any extension update, re-download from the Jobs page and click the reload icon on the extension in chrome://extensions.
Tips & good to know
- You always review and submit the form yourself — the extension fills fields and (optionally) attaches your resume, but never clicks submit.
- It works on standard inputs, native dropdowns, radio buttons, and custom Yes/No button toggles, and detects fields even inside web-component (shadow DOM) or same-origin embedded forms.
- No resume on file? Auto-fill will say so — upload your resume under Resume / your account on the connected site, then try again.
- Your extension login is separate from your website login and from the desktop app. You can be signed in on multiple browsers at once, and you can see/revoke any session under My account > Security (it appears as 'Browser Extension').
- Because it's an unpacked extension, you update it by re-downloading from the Jobs page and reloading it in chrome://extensions.
FAQ
Does it submit applications for me?
No. It fills the fields and can attach your resume, then you review the real form and click submit on the company's page. Nothing is auto-submitted.
It says 'Autofill failed' or 'No fillable fields' — what's wrong?
Check three things: you're signed in to the extension (popup), the connected account has a resume uploaded, and you're on the actual application form (not the job overview). Reload the page and click Auto-fill again.
Which sites does it work on?
Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Workday, and most custom company career/ATS forms — it detects fields generically rather than per-site.
Can I use it on more than one browser or computer?
Yes. Extension sessions are independent and not limited to one, unlike the desktop app. Each can be revoked individually in My account > Security.
Is it in the Chrome Web Store?
It's distributed as a downloadable unpacked extension from the Jobs page. Download it, unzip, and use Load unpacked in Developer mode at chrome://extensions.
